SYMPTOMS

Prorate dates for an existing prorate convention have been incorrectly defined for a fiscal year not yet in use.  When trying to delete by clicking on the Delete (X) icon
for the last entered record in Manage Prorate Conventions, you get the following error:

You cannot delete this record because it is already in use (FA-645229)

CAUSE

 Deletion of prorate dates is not allowed once a prorate convention (convention type itself, not just prorate dates) is in use by categories and/or assets.

SOLUTION

 1. Define a new prorate convention with the correct dates using Manage Prorate Conventions or use the Excel template available in
     Configuration Package Template Procedures Used to Import Fixed Assets Setup Data into the System. (Doc ID 2049651.1)

2.  Replace Prorate Convention and/or Retirement Prorate Convention at the category level using Manage Asset Categories as needed

3.  Use FSM > Adjust Assets > Mass Tab to transfer yous assets from the old prorate convention to the newly created one
